A mobile nail trim with Vancouver Mobile Dog Grooming costs $25. That price includes clipping, smoothing every nail with a rotary grinder, and a quick paw pad check. There is no travel fee anywhere in Metro Vancouver, so $25 is the full price at your door.
What a $25 mobile nail trim includes
- Clipping each nail to a safe length, staying clear of the quick
- Grinding the edges smooth so they don’t scratch floors or snag carpet
- A paw pad check for cracks, cuts or debris between the toes
- All of it in the grooming van, parked at your home, with no other dogs around
If your dog is booked for a full groom, the nail trim and grind is already included in the full groom price. You don’t pay for it twice.

How often should a dog’s nails be trimmed?
Most dogs need a trim every 3 to 6 weeks. Dogs that walk mostly on grass or carpet usually need it more often than dogs that walk on pavement every day, because concrete wears nails down naturally. A simple test: if you can hear nails clicking on a hard floor, they are long enough to trim.
Long nails change how a dog stands. The toes get pushed up and the weight shifts back onto the wrists and hips, which can make older dogs sore. Regular short trims also let the quick (the blood vessel inside the nail) recede over time, so each trim gets easier.
Why a mobile nail trim is easier on nervous dogs
Many dogs that struggle at a salon or vet clinic do better in the van. There is no car ride, no waiting room and no barking from other dogs. We work slowly, take breaks, and use the grinder in short bursts so the noise and vibration never build up. If your dog is very anxious, tell us when you book and we will plan a longer slot. Trimming at home vs. booking a groomer
You can trim nails at home with a good pair of clippers. Go slowly, take only a little at a time, and keep styptic powder nearby in case you nick the quick. Dark nails are harder because the quick isn’t visible. If your dog fights the clippers, has dark nails, or you aren’t comfortable doing it, a $25 visit is often the less stressful option for both of you.
